How to Form a Friends of the Night Sky Group

We are frequentyly asked about how to go about forming a night sky group like ours. Toward that end, Cliff Kaplan of the Hill Country Alliance has put together an guide called “Friends of the Night Sky Group — Getting Started.”

In addition, Wayne Gosnell, president of Blanco Country Friends of the Night Sky, wrote up a history of the things we did to start up the BCFNS. We hope it can serve as an example to transform a group of individual night sky advocates into an effective organization.
